Courses
Pre-health students at Richmond receive a solid foundation in the sciences. Our science curriculum not only provides students with an essential knowledge base, but more importantly, it challenges them to think critically and apply that knowledge to practical situations. These are the skills that health professional schools seek in their applicants.
Despite a heavy science curriculum, we know that a strong base in the humanities is equally important in turning out well-rounded and knowledgeable health professionals. We encourage students to take courses in the medical humanities; some choose to earn the new medical humanities minor we recently introduced. Medical humanities classes provide a broad picture of the medical landscape and prepare students for the challenges they’ll face after graduation in today’s modern medical practice.
