University of Richmond

Teaching

The science classes you take in your first few years at Richmond, and how successful you are in those classes, will be a critical part of your application package when you begin applying to health professional schools. Because the University of Richmond is dedicated to undergraduate teaching, you can be sure that the classes you take will be taught by knowledgeable professors—not teaching assistants.

MCAT Preparation Course

Realizing that health profession schools often view national tests with equal importance as undergraduate coursework, we offer our students a yearlong MCAT preparation course. Our class is team-taught by four of our experienced full-time faculty in biology, chemistry and physics and is offered free of charge to our full-time students. The course begins each fall semester and incorporates previously administered MCAT examinations for practice.
